Rock and Code - Front in Aracaju 2015

Another edition of Front in Aracaju: Rock and Code, the perfect mix of rock and front-end content, facing the Aracaju seafront. Rock and Code is Brazil’s first front-end event in a talk-show format — a way to bring musical interactivity, with a pop/rock band performing throughout the event, keeping things fun while giving attendees a chance to soak up technical knowledge. @FrontInAracaju

This time we had the Mozilla Foundation on board, with a talk by @AndreGarzia titled “Taking back control of your web experience with Add-ons,” and a mini-course on building HTML5 games with the Phaser framework, held at Universidade Tiradentes on 11/27/15, the day before the main event.

We also ran a booth at the event to recruit new Mozillians in the region, answer questions about Mozilla’s projects, and showcase a few new things:

MOZVR — an open-source virtual reality project for the web
Firefox Developer Edition — a Firefox build aimed at web developers, with great debugging and diagnostic tools (lots of interest, and some people even installed it right there at the booth)
Firefox for Android and iOS
The new Webmaker app

Beyond the activities during the event, we also planned a few initiatives for the Northeast region in 2016. Big thanks to fellow Mozillians André Garzia, Felipe (Harry), and Marina Limeira for their support and dedication, in the hope we’ll keep contributing to the Future of the Web.
