Message: God Said No
February 23, 2015
Trying to make sense of a few everyday things, I came across this message. Even though it’s very hard to understand God’s answers, we need to trust and keep working all the same.
God said no!
A man who used to make specific requests to God once managed to understand His answer, and wrote the following:
I asked God to take away my pain. God said no. “It is not for Me to take it away, but for you to let go of it.”
I asked God to make my physically disabled son perfect. God said no. “His spirit is perfect; his body is only temporary.”
I asked God to grant me patience. God said no. “Patience is born from hardship. It isn’t given, it’s earned.”
I asked God to give me happiness. God said no. “I give you blessings. Happiness is up to you.”
I asked God to spare me from pain. God said no. “Suffering draws you away from the world’s demands and brings you closer to Me.”
I asked God to help me grow in spirit. God said no. “You must grow on your own, but I will prune you so you can bear fruit.”
I asked God for everything, so I could enjoy life. God said no. “I give you life, so that you may enjoy everything.”
And finally, when I asked God to help me love others as much as He loves me, God said: “Now you’ve got it!”
If you happen to feel sad for not getting the answer you wanted from our Creator, smile again. The sun kisses the flower bud, and it smiles. The rain kisses the earth, and it turns green and smiles. Fire melts metal, and as it’s refined, it takes new shapes and smiles. Pain leaves, hope returns. Sadness flees, joy returns.
